It’s not hard to envision a recording studio control room full of familiar faces using their familiar production skills to shape this Alternative, Pop and EDM masterpiece. Grammy-nominated writer and producer Tommy Marolda has broken all boundaries with earth-shaking grooves and melodic chemistry: “Nikki Nikki Wah Wah” with it’s stutter effects and driving kick drum, “Sun” drenched in Beatlesque harmonies and mesmerizing guitars, the oddball “Therapist” with its twisted chord changes and relentless hook. This is clearly a departure from The Toms' power pop classic sound, but the songwriting and production is brilliant and welcome.
